A copy of the Magna Carta is to be displayed at the US National Archives on February 17th. It took a year to restore this copy.
The Magna Carta was the English royal manuscript that set out the rights of mankind.
First issued in 1215, it was confirmed as law in 1297.
The copy in Washington is one of four bearing the original seal of King Edward I in 1297. There are two others located in England, and another in Australia.
