Family Recipe Friday - The Best BBQ Sauce In The World

The Best BBQ Sauce In The World!
This BBQ sauce has never failed me! It is the absolute, hands-down, very best barbecue sauce in the entire world! It's something you'll want to truly savor!
[It's especially good on.....just about everything you can think of! Pulled pork, steaks, burgers, etc.]

Ingredients
1/2 cup minced onion
4 cloves garlice - minced
3/4 cup bourbon whiskey
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 tablespoon salt
2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/3 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar

Preparation
In a large skillet on medium heat, combine onion, garlic and whiskey. Simmer 10-minutes or until onion is transluscent. Mix in pepper, salt, ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, liquid smoke, worcesterhire sauce and brown sugar.
Bring to a boil.to medium-low and simmer about 20-minutes or until desired consistency.
Makes about 3-1/2 to 4 cups of sauce.

Refrigerate up to two weeks. Or can and seal with cold-pack method. Can be stored in sealed jars up to a year.

Sounds delicious! Gotta try it! I've been looking for a recipe my mom called "mustard pickle." It seems odd, but it has corn and baby lima beans as well as relish in yellow mustard. It was great on hot dogs and was popular in West Virginia.

Oh that does sound good!!! I'll have to search through some of Grandma's old recipes and see if I have something like that! She was a great one for relishes!

Thanks for the recipe. I'm on a canning blitz this week, and before I put away the equipment I'm going to mix up a batch of this sauce. Yum!
