Yesterday we asked you what this strange device was.
We had a couple of really good answers, the closest being a manual chainsaw.
The answer is...
...a Skull Saw.
This device was used by 17th Century doctors to open the skull. [Yep... they were actually doing this procedure at the time of the Pharoahs! So it's NOT a 20th Century procedure!] This allowed them to view the brain and to look for anomalies [or possible Devil's Marks, Witches Scratches, or Brain Infestation.] And remember, anesthesia was not yet discovered in the 16th century!
Gives me shivers!!!
