Kitty Wells, the Queen of Country Music, died yesterday at the age of 92.
I will always remember sitting on the floor playing with dolls, and listening to the Grand Ol' Opry on Saturday nights on Mama's old bakelite radio.
I can still hear Miss Kitty singing "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels". Even though I had no idea what a "honky tonk" was at that time! I knew I loved her voice!!!
Now she joins the likes of Patsy Cline, Dottie Rambo, June Carter Cash, and so many others.
Seems all the good ones are nearly gone.
You will be missed, Miss Kitty!
